I don't know how many times I've made this recipe! It's an amazing combination of flavors with the maple bacon and balsamic vinegar. I'm officially hooked on maple bacon now. I use it in everything!

Very good low Sodium recipe if watch out for labels.learned to try "white" Balsamic vinegar. So,cut w/half of the regular which can be strong. The milder red ones are very very Expensive.Still, delicious and as crunchy as You choose.Prefer crunchy Bacon taken out sooner.

Am I the only one who did not take the crispy bacon out of the pan for later? The recipe must be read to the very end to discover that. Sooooo, the bacon was not crispy and was cooked along with the other ingredients.

I have made this cabbage twice in two weeks. The first time was a tester, and since it was so good, I invited friends over last night for all the recipes from this episode. What a wonderful, and impressive dinner it was. No one had ever had braised cabbage before (just cabbage salads and it was a hit. It goes so well with the shorts ribs and grits! I didn't change a thing, and in my opinion, you have to include the maple bacon. Definitely a keeper recipe. Thanks, Claire.

I love this recipe! I made it to go with her buttermilk pecan chicken and I couldn't stop eating the cabbage! I had it every chance I could until it was gone! No tweaks for me, this was perfect!

Not being the brightest bulb, I did slow cook the bacon and found it quite funky. That was a rather important omission from the recipe. Other than that, some very tasty sauerkraut!
