I loved this recipe! It was so easy and a total hit! My only regret is I used a smoked cheese that overpowered the other flavors. In the future I would use equal parts smoked and non-smoked cheese so that the flavors would balance out more evenly.

This recipe was not only super easy, but also is great to tinker with to your taste, by adding in any herbs you like or switching up the cheese. I made it exactly as the recipe called for and it was hands down the best mac & cheese I've ever had. I'm so glad I made more so that I can have leftovers!

I made sure to get aged raw English cheddar which I had never tried before. Honestly I just wanted the eat the cheese instead of cook with it (it was mad good.
I think this recipe needed some fresh herbs and maybe something like bacon. I'm also a fan of the crust you get when you bake home made mac&cheese so next time I'm going to try that.

This meal will definitely satisfy your craving for something cheesy and comforting. It's both rich and delicious. Bonus: it's also super easy to make! Next time, I will probably jazz it up with some prosciutto or fresh herbs. But overall, this was pretty good for only five ingredients!

I've never had cheese penne before, always with marinara gravy as a spghetti dish. Kids loved it, took left overs to work and now everyone wants me to make this for our next luncheon. I made small meatloafs to go with this as well. Will keep this as a monthly dish at my house.

I used part white cheddar and part garlic cheddar i had left over from an antipasto plate. Also, instead of the milk and cream, i used milk and sour cream since that's what i had. Ziti instead of penne, Deli mustard instead of Dijion...
It's a basic, simply good dish that i WILL make again. and again.

Was pleasantly suprised, after reading the mixed reviews here. I did use an English White Cheddar, 3/4 of a pound, and I opted to use half and half instead of heavy cream. The 4 diners thought it resembled Alfredo sauce, very rich, but so yummy.

I wasn't sure how my kids would like this, but they loved it! It was so easy to make and a great base to add chopped ham or peas or any leftovers to make a full dinner.
