Claire! One thing that I love about your receipes is that you use basic ingredients NOT fancy or expensive ones like the other Chefs do. You use the basics and result in the Best!

I couldn't wait to try this so I even used regular split top wheat bread and still OMG it was delicious!

My hubby made me Nutella French toast topped with fresh strawberries for my birthday. That took the French toast from good to "Oh my God."

I've made this before with sliced strawberries, and again with bananas.

Wow. So easy and so delicious. I put bananas between the slices and Nutella - YUM! I couldn't find brioche at the supermarket, so used sweet Italian bread instead.

I haven't made it yet but gave it 5 stars because COME ON it's brioche, chocolate, eggs, milk and butter! My little twist would be to add some fresh berries, such as sliced strawberries, between the slices. But I'm sure Claire has done this but for the show needs to keep to her 5 ingredients. BTW, in case you're reading this Clarie, I LOVE that you save the ends of the bread for Newman! I do the same thing for my own canine sidekick Poncho :-

I'm too much of a nimrod to figure out how to email my idea for a french toast so I'll just post it here. I thought an angel food cake french toast stuffed with lemon curd and topped with strawberry or blueberry syrup and perhaps to gild the ol' lily some whipped cream would be spiffy
