I've made these several times to rave reviews from our guests!! Simple, elegant, and delicious! Make sure the sugar is fully dissolved as it is added to the chocolate. Fresh whipped topping, toasted coconut, caramel drizzle, and sea salt have been big hits for toppings!

Had to bake longer as my ramekins are larger, probably why I see people saying theirs came out to a soupy mess.
The smell is intoxicating already. Put some Lindt truffles in the center. Used dark chocolate instead, not sure if it made any difference. Hard to get it out of the ramekins even when well buttered.
Intensely rich, need milk to go with it. Will try out a new recipe.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Some readers have commented that they are too rich, I used salted butter to cut a bit through that and they are INCREDIBLE! I would up getting 5 ramekins from this recipe and have made twice already! They were a big hit with friends and family. Very easy to re heat as well.

I love this cake! Here's what I do: I only use 1 stick of butter (two sticks are way too much and melt that in a double boiler. Then, I add 8oz semi-sweet chocolate chips to the butter and melt until smooth (still over double boiler. I let that get pretty hot (but not boiling then I wisk in the sugar. I take it off the double boiler and temper my eggs (add a little of the hot cake mixture and wisk quickly to temper, then I wisk in the flour. I spray my ramekins (with PAM-- not butter... spray really well so that they come out easily, but not too much and then pour my cake batter 2/3 full. I then cut the 1-inch squares in half, and put half a square in each ramekin. : I only cook them 19-20 min. and they're perfect! That's what I do and it is fabulous!! For everyone having a hard time making this cake, TRY AGAIN : I hope this works as well for you as it does for me!!

I used 12 oz instead of 8oz and didn't have the chocolate squares because I misunderstood the ingredient list. It didn't turn out at all. The cake wouldn't set, even after 45min. It was a soupy mess.
