Claire's Pots De Creme are easy and fun to make. You cannot mess it up. I followed the recipe exactly as it is written, and it came out amazing! I was hesitant about the "Cherry Whip", but it was the perfect thing to dollop on top. I made it for a family, weeknight dinner, but I cannot wait to host my next dinner party, so I can impress my guests by serving up this dessert.

Made her awesome Pots De Creme with awesome ingredients in my awesome oven
Surprisingly they turned out decent. Nice thing about her recipes is how easy they are to make. Even a first time cook can handle any of them. Obviously she is very easily AWED. I'm anxious to try her awesome rice. I don't care how she pronounces yolk, but I wish she would stop saying Awesome

    Vera,
You can try using "Light" cream instead of heavy cream or even half and half in the filling. You can also use Splenda or just use less sugar than the recipe calls for. For the topping, many preserves and jams/jellies come in Reduced Sugar varieties now, try those, they are pretty good. For the whipped cream, it can only be made with real whipped cream, so it would be hard to make low fat. You can buy Cool Whip Lite instead and it would be great.

I am dying to try this recipe but am concerned about the fat and sugar content for I have to watch my glucose and fat intake. Anyone have any suggestions how to reduce the sugar and fat in this without depriving it of the richness and flavor?

Dot, please - who cares how she pronounces the word "yolk." If you want to be the articulation and grammar police, go hang out with Grammar Girl on facebook :p
