Yum! I just made these (plain version and they are delicious! I think the yield is wrong on this recipe because I shaped my dough close to Claire's proportions and I got about 21 cookies (instead of the 65 stated on the recipe. This recipe is a keeper. I can't wait to try the pecan version!

Awesomely easy & delicious recipe. This was my first time at making shortbread cookies from scratch, and I have to say I'll never go store bought again. As was previously stated, they are not really sweet. I made the pecan shortbread cookies & they were definitely less sweet than Pecan S@ndies. I'm sure that if you are looking for something more sugary you could sprinkle them with a little granulated sugar. I dipped mine in chocolate and they look and taste great. Highly recommend this recipe!

I liked this recipe. I was happy to make my own at home (since Lorna Doone's are seldom on sale. I see a lot of people are trying to get 65 cookies out of the 5 inch block. I think the TOTAL cookies produced by all versions of the recipe would get you about 65 cookies, not just the basic version.

These cookies are okay. When I made into log and chilled it was a crumbled mess. I had to hand shape put back in fridge then bake. The cookies taste good but what a pain. I probably will attempt again and maybe let chill overnight.

These cookies couldn't be easier, or more fun to make. I was able to whip them up in about ten minutes with my new Cuisinart food processor.

These have a very pronounced butter flavor, and are very, very good. I actually prefer Ina Garten's shortbread recipe because it is a little sweeter. However, if you like your shortbread less sweet, as many people do, this is your recipe. Yummy!

These are soo good! And so easy! My son and I made the basic shortbread recipe and then he went onto make many more batches himself. To keep them round in the fridge we wrapped them with plastic wrap and them put them inside a gift wrap tube. Before we baked them we sprinkled them with sugar to add some sweetness and then some colored sugar for Christmas. Melt in your mouth!
