Wow. SO GOOD. Frying the sage seemed strange to me, but it was so delicious. I added quite a bit of garlic and very little salt...I also couldn't find the onions specified in the recipe, so I just used a Texas sweet onion and it was perfect. Very light and tasty. I also made the cornbread from scratch just before so I think that helped to keep this dish really nice and fluffy. We had a mini-Thanksgiving tonight with friends and everyone absolutely loved this dish!

I usually enjoy a sort of impromptu Thanksgiving type meal in the heat of summer, sort of a reminder that the heat will eventually give way to autumn. This usually involves a simplification of my family's more traditional passed down recipes. I made this with a roast chicken (using Ina Garten's Turkey Breast recipe and sauteed brussel sprouts with bacon, onion and parmesan. It was all fantastic. Thanks Claire, I love watching your show! I just wish it was on more than once a week!

This dish is WONDERFUL. It has SO much flavor and was absolutely the shining star next to the turkey on our Thanksgiving table. It will be a staple at holiday meals for years to come. It's also great with a little gravy on top.

I made the cornbread from scratch last night, and we tried your recipe today. I wouldn't have ever thought to fry sage before, but the flavor it lended was just awesome. My husband doesn't usually care for stuffing, but is now a BIG fan of your homemade, crispier version. We tried every one of your recipes from this show, and we loved them... thank you for your updated versions of comfort food without being overly complicated. Our Thanksgiving was relaxing and stress free and delicious, thanks to you, Claire! :
