We made this today (without the orange and it was GREAT! It may be my new favorite way to eat broccoli!!! I would also say it fed 4 easily, not 6-8 servings.
Keep up the great work, Claire!

This was so good, I had to go back to the store and make it again the NEXT DAY! This is definitely my new favorite way to cook broccoli!

This recipe was delicious, but I changed it up a bit. After reading some of the other reviews I went against adding the orange aspects (I'm also not a huge citrus fan and it turned out great. I sampled just the roasted broccoli before combining it with the creamed part, and it was SO good all on its own (keep in mind that it shrinks quite a bit. I also don't think the amount of servings is accurate, I would say that this recipe makes more like 4 servings, not 6-8.

I knew my daughter wouldn;t be nuts about the orange in this recipe, so I simply left it out - and this was the most delicious broccoli dish I've ever had! The whole family loved it. I doubt I'll ever make it with the orange as it was perfect without it. SImple, fast recipe and so, SO yummy!

I usually like the flavor combinations Claire Robinson comes up with but frankly orange and broccoli just doesn't do it for us. I suspect it is simply a love or hate situation when it comes to this recipe. But I also thought it was a lot of work for the finished result even without the offputting orange flavor. I know of at least 3 cream of broccoli soup recipes that use five ingredients that turn out far superior to this and I wish I'd made any one of them.
Sorry Claire, this was a definite miss for us...but we're still fans!

I made this for supper tonight alone with the blue cheese chicken. Loved the chicken but thought broccoli and orange are not a good combination. My boys ages 23 and 16 agreed with me. I will make this recipe again but next time I'll leave out the orange and add some sharp cheese before mixing with the other broccoli. I think that would taste much better.

This is absolutely amazing, the flavors are spectacular!!! I would definitely add more broccoli in the oven...as much as you can. The portion for the sauce was huge and when I put in my roasted broccoli it was almost like a soup. The garlic with the orange and everything...definitely needs a generous amount of salt. Such amazing flavors, this is what cooking is supposed to be. Amazing flavors with simple easy recipes!!

I tried this tonight and loved it. I tasted the roasted broccoli separately from the creamy broccoli and really liked the flavor combination of the orange juice and olive oil. I liked the creamy part as well, Once combined, it all tasted pretty much like the creamy broccoli. I will definitely make this again, and will be content even if I don't make the creamy part.

I loved the idea of this dish, but to me, the caramelized broccoli and the orange zest were just too much for me and my husband. If I made it again, I would just saute the broccoli and not add the orange zest.
