Took some of the other reviewers concerns about salt to heart and left it out of the dry rub. Only other change I made was to add a couple of drops of hot sauce to the sauce. We loved the sauce and chicken and will make again.

This is one of the best chicken recipes I have ever used. Everyone in the family was so disappointed that there was not any left for seconds. The family does not usually like leftovers, so I made just one breast per person. I will definitely double the recipe next time. I also used Essence for the rub due to not having the dry BBQ, otherwise followed recipe directly. My daughter, who asked if she had to eat the whole breast when I put her plate in front of her, begged me to make it again tonight for dinner. I paired this with the Baked potatoes with carrots, sweet potatoes and onions, also from this site. GREAT combination, and only had to use the oven.

Made this receipe last night, was very pleased. I always test a receipe before serving it when my family comes to dinner. Chicken is such an economic meal for a family. I read all the reviews and followed the receipe but did not find it too salty . I did add small amount of liquid to the pan the chicken was cooked in and used this for my sauce since I did not make the BBQ sauce. This receipe was added to my receipe collection. Claire you were added to my recordings from the food network since I love your simple but tasty receipes. You have a freshness and I always get tips when watching your show. Keep it up. JC

I used some of my own twists... I did not use much vinegar in the brine. I used Beer Can Chicken with Cola Barbecue Sauce (BBQ with Bobby Flay rub concoction. And I grilled the chicken (about 15 minutes. It was delicious. Next time I may use boneless, skinless breasts because they are so much easier to serve and eat. The brining should keep them moist through the grilling process.

This is the absolute best chicken I have ever made! It was so moist and
full of flavor it was unbelievable! And so easy! My family was upset there
wasn't more! We will be making this at least once a week! Thanks Claire!
Love 5 ingredients or less! Great idea!!

I haven't made this particular recipe yet but I certainly plan to.

I always brine my Thanksgiving turkey with fabulous results. I will never make another turkey without brining it first. It makes the most succulent turkey ever, so I can imagine how wonderful the chicken will be. After brining, ALWAYS rinse the meat with lots of cold water and pat dry. That rinses off the excess salt so the turkey or chicken should be seasoned just right.

When I make this recipe, I will not add any salt to the rub...it shouldn't be required, the BBQ seasoning (found in the spice section of the grocery store and the brown sugar should be just right.

I made this recipe last night and my family loved it! They said it was the best chicken I had ever made. I read the previous reviews about it being too salty and I was worried about that but went ahead & followed the recipe exactly as written and it was fine. I think the key is to be sure and leave the skin on so the chicken doesn't absorb all the salt in the brine.

My whole family loved it. I would have given it five stars but it was a bit salty. We dont cook with a lot of salt so putting salt in the bbq sauce and on the meat was way too much. Instead of chicken breast we used a butterball 3lb turkey and put it in out nuwave oven. It definitely made the list but without the salt next time.

You may want to find a dry rub without salt and lessen the amount in the recipe. I made it last night and I could not even eat it, wasted a lot of chicken :(

I made this chicken for dinner today and my husband and I absolutely loved it. The chicken was so juicy and the rub just made it taste so good. We also had the barbecue sauce and it just added to it all. The recipes are easy and so tasty. We didn't think it was salty at all and I followed the recipe exactly. We loved it.
