I tried this recipe for the first time today for a family Thanksgiving dinner and everyone gave it rave comments. There was very little left over and the hostess asked for the recipe. As I am not a fan of a lot of onion this was a great alternative from the traditional green bean casserole. I was only confused on the mushroom amount as 4 ounces is definitely more than 2 tablespoons. I only used 2 tablespoons but next time will use more for a bit more taste. Other than that it is a great casserole and will be used alot.

I couldn't get away without using the usual onion topping, so I just replaced the cornflake mixture. It was a big hit.

This was a big hit at Thanksgiving dinner. Instead of mozerella cheese, we used Cabot Sharp cheddar and we replaced the corn flakes with crumbled Ritz crackers. It was delicious!

Very dry, we all missed the onion crunch on top, no one went back for more, had to scrap the rest in the trash. YUCK!

When it came time to eat this bake dish the green beans tasted like they had been frozen. I don't know what happened but I was disappointed. And to top it off I made this for Thanksgiving Day.

This is the first time I cooked for Thanksgiving and my first time celebrating Thanksgiving as a US citizen ^__^

My husband (born in the US loves green beans and I have a European background (love onions, cheese, mushrooms, etc.. This recipe allowed me to offer my husband's favorite Thanksgiving side dish along with my favorite ingredients. Yum!

I used Italian red onion (Costco did not carry Vidalia and I replaced the corn flakes with panko bread crumbs.

I have the turkey in the oven at 350, so the casserole is baking at 350 as well. Note to self to bake this ahead of time, so I don't have to bother the turkey on Thanksgiving morning. Thanks Claire!

My man is an onion freak I used a cup of onion and doubled the mushrooms. I had to add some cream to the sauce to make it thiner because of all the extra mushroom.

This is soo tasty and good It would be even great with out the cheese!
