This is such an excellent & healthy recipe. I used Organic Basmati rice and organic thai basil, less salt and more lemon and pepper. "My God!" my husband loves it so much. He kept me telling me over and over again how much he loves this Goddess Green Rice, I loved it too. This recipe came handy at perfect time, because we were tired of eating meat dishes... No meat, which helps us to stay young and healthy! I am thinking I will buy Claire's Book "5 Ingriedent Fix". We had this wonderful rice with some red beets. Brilliant!
I love Claire Robinson and Ellie Krieger, they should have more time in Food Network, so that we all learn how to eat healthy and live long. Thank you Claire! You're a dynamic person and you rock!

It was a weird flavor and kind of bland despite the basil. I tossed in some sour cream to try to punch it up but that didn't help much but then I mixed in a sauce with mandarin oranges, srichacha, honey and lemon that seemed to be a better compliment to the rice. The sauce came from a Tilapia recipe from Robin Miller (but I put a twist on it cause I couldn't find the red chili paste. I put the sauce on my plate (unsure if I would like the combo of flavors since it was the first time I made it but the Tilapia was so good that I didn't want to use the sauce on it...although the sauce was good. So, I mixed the sauce in with the Green Goddess rice and that was interesting...gave it some kick.

This was a unique and delicious way to prepare rice. The basil and lemon juice made it taste really fresh, while The avocado gave it a creamy texture. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not find this bland at all. I eyeballed the measurements, but stuck close to the recipe. Perhaps those that found this bland didn't salt and pepper the dish "to taste"? I look forward to leftovers for lunch tomorrow and I'm excited to serve this as a side next time I have people over!

I am shocked by the negative reviews of this recipe! I loved it! I used 2 avocados instead of 1 and the juice of only half of the lemon. I even substituted whole grain rice to make it healthier. I would recommend or serve this to anyone! My husband and I love food and have eaten at some amazing restaurants and we both think this tastes like something we would have been served! I paired it with coconut fish and the flavors complimented well. Yum!

I haven't tried this recipe yet. I just watched the episode for the first time today. My first thought when seeing the recipe was that there seems to be something missing from the ingredients and that is garlic. I think I'll try it just like she makes it, but I'll add a garlic clove to the dressing. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I followed this recipe exactly. It didn't taste bad, but it just didn't taste. It was lacking in flavor. I was surprised because all of the ingredients are great but for some reason this recipe just didn't work.

I tried it as written the first time, only my 2 year old ate it all happily and i was not impressed. But with cilantro instead of basil and some other spices my whole family enjoyed it.

I made this for dinner tonight. I used scallions instead of basil b/c my grocery didn't have any basil. I also added in 1 cup of peas to get more veggies in. Those flavors worked fine together, but the juice of one lemon is way too much. I will try buying another avocado tomorrow to balance it out so that all my leftovers will not go to waste. Next time I make this, I will probably add half as much lemon, if even that much.
