I was excited to make this recipe but was concerned that it my be too much basil. it was and not enough Avocado. I added an additional avacado to the recipe. I would be interested in trying this again if someone had a suggestion on how to improve it. Maybe adding a chile? If you enjoyed this recipe what did you do to modify it or improve it?

I made the basamati rice with 1/2 chicken stock intead of water. To the green goddess sauce I added some pinoli nuts and a little grated parmesan cheese. It was fabulous!! I served Ina Gartens Tuscan lemon chicken on top. YUM!

First of all, I'm not a chef by any means, i just like to cook and would like to put my two cents. I did not like this recipe at all. I was excited and was hoping for something better. I love avocadoes and really thought that this rice was going to be delicious but it wasn't. I really enjoy the show and is nothing against claire, just trying to help the folks a little when they're trying to decide whether or not to try this : I do love the 5 ingredient concept though and will try out other things i've seen on the show.

I made this rice twice and without looking at the comments I add more avocado. The rice came out mushy the first time but I think that I stirred the rice while it was still cooking. The second time I followed the back of the bag of rice. The taste of the recipe was different but flavorful with a bit more salt and a more creamier blend. I don't always assume that a recipe I want to try is exact when it comes to my personal taste you have to adjust it, that's what make a real cook.

I was so looking forward to this recipe. I thought it just might be up there with Claire's Sunday roast beef -which is fabulous! She made this rice sound like a dream. Maybe it would be better on the terrace with a nice bottle of wine. On second thought, throw out the rice and just have the wine. By the way, I am a great cook who entertains quite often and wouldn't think of forcing my guests to fake a compliment for the sake of making me feel good about this dish.

I was lucky to have read what other people said with this recipe and I added an extra avocado. It was very good.

This recipe is easy and a great base to add things to. I started by adding another avocado, a little more olive oil, more water to dilute the lemon a little and make it a bit creamier, blended until creamy. Then, to the rice, I added some diced marinated red peppers, a 15 oz can of lump crab, and about six ounces of shaved parmesano reggiano. Then, I mixed all up and put it in a nice white cassarole disk, dressed it up with some basil leaf clumps and strips of marinated red pepper, and it's good to go for tomorrow's Christmas party buffet. Don't forget to salt and pepper this one--it needs it, but take it easy, because salt dissolves slowly....try it see what you think.

I wish I would have read some of the revies before making. The Goddess or the Goodness was not in this dish. Maybe if I would have added some personal touches to this dish it would not have been so bland. I defiently would not serve it to any guest. What a waste, I had to throw it away..

Don't waste your time on this one. I could not get past the smell to even taste it. My husband tried it and spit it out. He is not a picky eater. We threw it all away.
