This was a very easy recipe to follow. I used a rice cooker and followed the recipe for the green sauce. It was really good. I would recommend using less lemon. This would be good on chicken too.

Don't know why all of you don't like this recipe, probably most of you can't cook.
But for a cook like me it is very awesome and I made it for 20 people and all loved it. So keep it up Claire.

It literally tastes exactly like each ingredient (rice with lemon, basil, and avocado. The problem is that the ingredients don't mesh well together, and instead they each stand out as too strong.

Wanted to love it, it looked so good on TV. No one in my family of five liked it. All said it was bland and lacking something. I read the comments and tried to correct it, but nothing worked for me. Claire, did you forget an ingredient??!!!

Excellent variety to plain old rice.

I really wanted to love this recipe, but as it is written it is just okay. I added some chopped green onion to the finished product as well as some extra salt to make it a bit more savory. After those changes, it was a little better.I think I would try it again, and listen to some of the reviewers who suggest adding more avocado (probably twice as much and definitely not as much lemon. I'll try again, just because I think it has potential to be a wonderful side dish for seafood.

Kind of a waste of beautiful and expensive Basmati, it was really just mushy and nothing special!!

I used a little less basil than the recipe and more avocado and it was delicious.

This is one to keep in your pocket for quick and easy preparation!! It will be an impressive rice dish accompanyment to many meals. Mine turned out delicious! I also look forward to making my own variations, depending on what I intend to serve. I was tempted to try Hector's cilantro / lime version, but I wanted to make the real deal first. Claire is a great presentor and her eclectic use of flavor is refreshing!

I agree, without some personal touches it can be a bit bland and there is also the issue of the lemon flavor lingering on the palate a little too long. It really needs something to offset it. I added some heat because we like it spicy around our house and I topped with some fresh grated hard cheese (parmesan, asiago because, well, we like cheese. You have to be careful the avocado doesn't get "lost" in the dish with the add ins but this is an excellent way to change up your rice and its a great base to make a really unique dish to serve to friends and family.
