This recipe was a favored dish during memorial weekend bbq. It was not only easy to make, it was delightful in flavor and presentation. This is by far, my favorite homemade gourmet salad!!! En guete!

Love it - I reduce balsamic often for other uses - the key is using lower heat and I do a couple of cups at a time and store it in the fridge. This is an awesome salad.

I really didn't prefer the taste of the grilled watermelon and I reduced the vinegar until it because hard when eating - there needs to be a time in the recipe added. Now I am trying to figure out how to get it out from my saucepan.

I am a HUGE fan of Claire's show and couldn't wait to try out this recipe. I made this salad for a family get-together with my father-in-law who is very much a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy and usually steers clear of anything green. Needless to say he was extremely skeptical but then proceeded to eat three helpings. This salad was a huge hit with everyone!

This was just OK, slightly disappointing. It looked GREAT on the plate, however the flavors were dull. Maybe it was my watermelon, but grilling didn't make the flavor pop. Reducing the balsamic vinegar was a minor pain. It went from complete liquid to syrup in about 15 seconds. If you turned your back, it was burned. Don't think I'll make again.

I loved this salad and so did my guests. I have made it with goat cheese and feta and I probably prefer feta.
By the way, Smart & Final sells a great balsamic glaze from Italy, it's about $7 a bottle (12.9 oz and a smart time-saver. The brand name is Roland.
Love Claire's show. Thanks.

It might be my personal taste or the fact that it is 90 degrees outside, but I found that I much prefer this salad cold. Just skip the grilling part of the recipe and you'll enjoy a cool, crisp, juicy, sweet watermelon mixed with the yummy balsamic and creamy goat cheese. Thanks Claire!

I think it really depends on if you get a good melon. My melon was not very sweet. So I ended up with warm, flavorless watermelon. It just looked so much better than it tasted. The goat cheese and the melon was not so bad.
