I made this Salad today and the presentation was breathtaking, and it was very refreshing the way all the flavors and texture tasted together. Sweet from the watermelon and tangy from the balsamic vinegar gave it a nice taste to the palate. I made this salad along with another recipe from the Food Network, Chili-rubbed tilapia and the combination of the 2 different flavors was just wonderful. The tilapia with a little spicy heat, but not overly done and to cool off the palate a cool sweet refreshing taste from the watermelon salad just enough to Savoy the combination of both dishes. I will definitely make both dishes again for my family as well as friends.

We tried this last night and loved it. We made sure to heat up our outdoor grill on high and leave the top open to grill the watermelon. It onyly took about 1-2 minutes per side. I just did one layer of watermelon instead of two. It was just the right amount as a pre-entre salad. One problem I had was reducing the balsamic - I took my eye off it at the end and it ended up burning so keep a close eye on it. The flavors were very complementary and grilling the watermelon made the difference.

Liked the concept, the ingredients all worked well together, but next time I think we'll skip grilling the watermelon. It didn't add anything and added a disconcerting element to an otherwise nice salad.

I saw this earlier today and had to try it. The watermelon, balsamic, and goat cheese combo was a hit! Had to turn the panini press up to sear to get those grill marks. Tasty!

saw this show today and tried the salad tonight with some ribs and corn on the cob....the plate just looks fantastic!!..and the taste is great as well....my wife just loved it...grilling really transforms the taste of the watermelon into something rather savory....the balsamic reduction is a very nice component and I was surprised at how quickly it reduced into a syrup....one thing I did do differently was dice up some prosciutto and then fried it up to be very crispy and incorporated that into the salad....I love sweet and salty and the crunchy texture on the bits worked well with the salad IMO....this is definitely a keeper for us!!!

We grilled the watermelon on our outdoor grill, and we obviously didn't have the heat up high enough because the watermelon came out soggy. It's an easy and simple salad, but next time I will probably grill it on the indoor grill pan and just sear it on each side.
