Great sandwich! I used sourdough bread and decent white cheddar (not high end and it was wonderful. Very easy to make. Makes an everyday dinner into something a little special.

I saw this episode during DC's mega-snowstorm and couldn't wait to make it. It is really good, and the pancetta adds a nice saltiness without being overbearing. I used a nice honey wheat bread from Panera rather than the Brioche, but may try that nice time. Easy and good!

This is a great sandwich. I didn't use Brioche, and will the next time I make it, as I know it will only make the whole thing more delicious.

I got all the ingredients at the new "Fresh and Easy" market. I wasn't expensive at all. Granted, "regular cheese" costs less, but what happened in this sandwich would not have been quite the same with regular cheddar.

I toasted the Pancetta in the toaster oven using the broiler. I just set it right on the rack and it only took a couple of minutes. The kind from F&E is very thin!

For the bread, I used one I've been looking for a reason to buy... Green Chile Sourdough. It's got a little spice, and I like it, I'm just not sure I'm going to be able to use the whole loaf. (Strike that, I'll make something snacky for superbowl!

Generally when I make Grilled Cheese for my family I add deli ham and tomatoes. This was a nice alternative but I found it to be more realistic to make it the "normal" way with ham and tomatoes.

I couldn't get all the fancy ingredients, living in a small town. So I had to use sourdough, white cheddar and regular bacon. It was good, but I deftinly couldn't imagine eating an expensive grilled cheese sandwich. She needs to chill alittle, a grill cheese is suppose to be simple and inexpensive.

My 12 year old son & I are foodies and fell in love w/ Claire's show. We made everything on this episode and got rave reviews. We shooped for brioche (not the easiest thing to find in Oakland and went to a special cheese market in Berkeley - it was worth it! This was the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. Try it!

We could not find a loaf of brioche so we use sourdough whole wheat and subbed turkey bacon for pancetta.

    Yummy!

We will make this again. We used 2 slices of turkey bacon but next time will use just one. This was the best tastin' grill cheese ever!
