I sat with my mouth open the whole time Claire made this sandwich. It looked like it would be so fabulous and it truely was. Now I have to admit something about Claire is a little over the top personality wise but the food was delicious. I had a hard time cutting through the Brioche neatly but I figured out how to make my raggedy bread slices work for me. Also I did find Heirloom tomatoes but like Claire said they were ridiculously expensive so I passed and just used a regular tomatoe. Also I added a bit of fresh basil to my sandwich as well......HEAVEN!! I loved this recipe and can't wait to try more of Claire's recipes.

I thought this sandwich was great. I swapped out the bread for whole grain and I used regular tomatoes because I could not find heirloom tomatoes anywhere. Maybe they are called by a different name? I made this with Giada's Hearty Tomato soup with lemon and rosemary. I loved the grown up version of grilled cheese and tomato soup! Thanks Claire!

Unless you want 100 delicious flavors to explode in your mouth, leaving you wanting more and more with each and every bite!
I happened upon Claire's show one Saturday afternoon recently and I found my mouth watering the whole time... literally! I told my wife that I couldn't help her in the kitchen because I needed to have this "Grown-Up Farmhouse Grilled Cheese". Since we couldn't make it right then, she would just have to let me enjoy it vicariously through the moanings and groanings Claire was making as she tasted it. I was so jealous of Claire that day.
Well, today my wife made a trip to the grocery store and we made these sandwiches for ourselves. All I could say is, "Wow!" Now, however, after the flavors have been washed away from my senses by a cup of coffee and I've regained most of my consciousness, I can say with all honesty, "That was the best Fn' grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had in my entire life!" As I mentioned above, flavors were popping left and right with each bite and, with the different textures of the bread, pancetta, cheese and those thick meaty tomatoes, it was all such a sensory delight.
We will definitely be having these again. Thank you for this recipe, Claire. Oh, and thanks to Food Network for putting it on the web so we could find it and make it like Claire did!

oh my gosh this is one EXCELLENT sandwich. I couldn't find brioche and my panchetta slices were way too thin...but it was still so so good. I can't wait to use real brioche bread and get the thicker slices of panchetta...I highly recommend this recipe. You will blow your guests away and so easy to make. I ended up getting a "farm style" bread which was ok but I bet using the brioche will be awesome. this is a fun show, i like it.

This sandwich is AWESOME! My husband and I were so QUIET while we were eating lunch today because we were savoring every moorsel of this sandwich.
The oven-roated pancetta, the bread (toasting it before grilling was a great idea, the heirloom tomato from the farmers market this morning...I spazed and forgot to pick up the cheese so had to use what I had on hand, which was provolone, and will DEFINITELY pick up the aged white cheddar before lunch tomorrow, but this was one incredible-tasting sandwich. Thank you Claire!
