These were very tasty but extremely difficult to slice. I noticed that the show measurements were different than this recipe so I chose to use the show measurements. I froze the dough and it helped a little. The cooking time is also way off. 12-14 minutes were the ranges in all my batches. I also frosted the cookies as I needed to have more cookies for guests. Delicious and I would definitely make them again now that I feel I've got a handle on how to make them work.

Took advice from others and modified a little. I used 6 tbsp cream cheese instead of 4, and added 1/2 a lemon worth of juice to the filling, and added the zest of 1 whole lemon. I found that I wanted them to be a little more "lemony." I did not find it difficult to cut the cookies, but i left them in the fridge for 1 1/2 days. Also, it's hard to roll into a log, so wrap around plastic wrap first then mold to prevent sticking to your hands. I also put them right onto a cookie sheet with no problem.

I'm not a fan of fruit desserts, but these were incredible. They were so buttery and lemony and I loved the filling. I froze my dough before slicing, easy, peasy!! I made them just as the recipe called for. I also made a second batch and made them as individual cookies with the icing on top. Only disadvantage is the icing didn't firm up, so were difficult to store. They have become a fave!

It was a disaster!!!! I´ve been depressed the whole afternoon because it was the first recipe I tried in years to go wrong. I prefer making cup cakes, and so I did with the frosting and yellow cake. They were very good.

These are awesome! However, recipe only calls for 2 cups powdered sugar and you really need three. Must be a misprint. As with others who've posted, I used 8 ounces of cream cheese. Increasing the zest gives the cookies an extra lemony flavor. Also, the second time I made them I squeezed some extra lemon juice into a spray bottle and spritzed the tops of the cookies. After they dried I dusted with the powdered sugar. That gave the cookies just a little extra zing!

Yes,I too had problems with slicing,so I too froze which helped, rolled them a little more, then stuck them back in freezer for 15 minutes and sliced.Even though, they were delicious: So nice that you can make these with such little ingredients: My family loves them. You can also customize them to your liking, more or less zest as well as trying Orange or Lime.I have tried the orange, very good: Also the first time I made these,I made the cream cheese filling first and ended up using the rest of my powdered sugar, therfore used granulated sugar for the cookie, which also worked well.
    Thanks Claire,you kick *****!!

These are great cookies plain or with the cream cheese. Very light. I added a bit more lemon zest to the batter and cream cheese because we like lemon. I also just added 2 TBSP of fresh lemon juice to the batter and then froze the log. I did have some problems slicing the log and keeping the slices from falling apart so I may add a bit mor liquid to the batter next time. Definitely a keeper as they are easy to make and delicious. I stored them in an airtight container in the fridge as they have cream cheese.

I was very disappointed in the cookies and ended up throwing them out! They tasted really bland - and I could taste the flour in them. The filling needed more lemon flavor because I couldn't taste the lemon in the cookie. Not a receipe that I'll want to try again. It went into the trash along with the cookies.
