I thought these cookies were excellent! The few modifications I made was I only juiced 1 lemon as I had a large juicy one and didn't want to be overpowered by a lemon flavor. Also, used 1 1/2 sticks of butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar for the cookies. Sliced them very thin and baked for 11 minutes. Love em!

I made these last week after watching her make them on the show. I noticed the discrepency between the show and written recipe regarding the sugar. I used the two cups of sugar in the batter and they turned out great. 20 min is too long and they're the best when just starting to brown on the edges. 8 oz of cream cheese made for a good filling and I agree that a touch of vanilla in the filling made it delicious.

Loved these cookies! So "Lemonie". However I did cut back a little on the butter, salt and sugar. They were wonderful. Chose to not use a sandwhich type cookie but layer cream cheese sauce on the top (or not at all also make them smaller in circumference. What a great "Tea" or anytime cookie this made. Thanks Claire.

I also did my cookies ranging from 12-15 minutes which I found to be more than enough time. 20 minutes was WAY too long. My friend who is a culinary instructor advised of the timing. They were really good cookies. Also, it is better to use the whole 8 oz. cream cheese. As advised from the other previous comments. I have found that most of these recipes are basically just guidelines & you can just doctor them up as you go. I have tried following other instructions on other shows recipes, some work, some do not! I just play with the recipes until I find the right consistency & flavor.

This is a very subtle cookie with a light texture. Probably a good thing as you get two when you have a "sandwich." Would be a wonderful cookie to take to a tea or luncheon. I agree on the bake time-I went 15 minutes in general. Also used the entire 8 oz brick of creme cheese. I took a shot on using neufatchel cream cheese and I Can't Believe it's Not Butter sticks instead of the full calorie ingredients. Found them to be delicious!

These were sooo good! I made them last night and I iced them and put them in sandwiches, and today I had one and they were extremely soft and delicious! But I agree with some of the other comments, I only baked them for about 12-15 min. And I also added the whole 8 oz box of cream cheese and a little bit of vanilla extract and sugar to the icing just so it wouldn't be quite so lemony with the cookie. But all in all these were delishh! (:

@arlington- I used 1 cup of sugar for the cookies.

I can see what other posters mean by adding more cream cheese. With just 4 oz it's only a binder, you don't really get that sour cream cheese flavor. Ditto cooking time- at 15 minutes, some of them were starting to burn. Next time I would put my timer on for 10 minutes and keep checking.

    Really easy and really tasty.

Made this cookie the next day. I used 1 cup of sugar in the dough and it was perfect. However, 20 minutes was too long, baked for 15 minutes. Decided not to use as a cookie sandwich, just spread the icing on top of each cookie. Great cookie, I will be taking this to pot lucks and to the office.

Made this the same day we watched the show. I however followed what was done on the show. Two cups sugar in the dough and 8oz cream chees for the frosting. The are FANTASTIC, we loved them so easy, and will be going to many events as the new dessert treat, could not be easier, these are the best!!

Just watched the show on this recipe - had to look at recipe here since the show didn't give temperature or cooking time. On the show she used 2 cups of sugar in the batter and 1 cup in the icing. But here is says only 1 cup in the batter ... for the other two posters who made this cookie, how much sugar did you use?
