I was hoping to try something different from Alex Guarnaschelli's recipe for candied bacon and came across this one, with it's apparent fantastic reviews raving about how yummy it is. I followed the recipe exactly and within ten minutes, before I could even baste it, my bacon was burnt to ashes beyond anything I could possibly find enjoyable and the money I spent for quality bacon was down the drain. That, and I was left hungry. So to anyone looking to enjoy this recipe, please, do yourself a favor and keep a hawks eye on them suckers lest you end up a disappointed fool like myself.

Un-be-lie-va-ble. I would recommend doubling the sauce, however, because there isn't quite enough to "generously" coat the bacon AND baste it later.

SOOO GOOD! It did take a bit longer than the recipe stated and I read the recipe wrong and mixed the pepper into the syrup and mustard instead of sprinkling it on after but it was still amazing.

Have to agree with the review below mine. Had to learn this the hard way. The flavor was yummy though & I would make this again. It's not something I would want with every meal. Can't really beat the plain bacon but this was nice for a change. Best served with salty sides.

This was soo yummy, I didn't have thick bacon or Grade B Maple Syrup, so I used thin bacon and grade A syrup and it turned out great! Remember to take the bacon off the baking rack after a few minutes or it will really stick to the rack (this happened to me but it didn't change the flavor:
