I baked the crust for 15 mins and the filling for 25 and they still burned! I have an oven thermometer so I know the issue isn't the oven being too hot. I was hoping for a gooey, truly decadent pecan square and this isn't it :( the amount of butter makes for a good bite, although I will keep looking...

These could not have turned out better, and I'm not even a huge pecan fan. I did take the advice of others and changed the base-crust cook time to 12 minutes before adding the pecan mixture and cooking for the remaining time. I've made this 3 times in the last month, a definite keeper.

I absolutely love and adore these bars. I have made time and time again and my family eat them all. They have become an family tradition in my household. Even when I take them to the office they seem to get all eaten up and I'm like "hey where's mine" Lol. Great job. Great job Claire, I'm looking for my next household family tradition.

This recipe has a lot of potential. But something that nobody else mentioned is that the amount of salt for the recipe is way too much. The crust was too salty. I felt that way and so did everyone else in my family. I would reduce the 1 teaspoon of salt to just a pinch. The ratio of pecan to crust was also off. Too much pecan. I'd use about 2 cups instead of 3.
Also, took other reviewers' suggestion and only baked the crust for about 12 minutes.
Overall, 4 stars because it is deliciously buttery and yummy.

Just made these to bring for Thanksgiving but of course I had to sneak a taste beforehand just to make sure they were ok. They came out fantastic! Moist, chewy, and deliciously buttery! I took others' suggestions and only baked the crust for 15 minutes. Also, I didn't use a food processor or a mixer. Did it all by hand and everything came out fine. Thumbs up!

SUPER easy to make and everyone LOVES them! My husband's family has started to request these for the holidays and they look forward to them! The ingredients are simple and so is the recipe. It isn't very involved and I like that. I use a pizza cutter to cut into bars.

The taste was fine but overall I was disappointed in the bars. The proportion of filling to crust was not to my liking, too much crust.
