I used 1/3 cup of corn syrup, recipe doesnt specify. Also, the directions arent very clear about when the crust and topping should be done. Since both are brown/golden to begin with, it is hard to determine when they are golden, which means they are done. I baked the crust until it set and didnt look raw anymore. The topping is done when everything is completely level and looks set. Wish the directions were more clear. I had to do everything by hand which takes some time. Bars were delicious though!

Awesome bars! My husband is in pain he has had so many today for Thanksgiving! Save to say they were a hit. He will not let me share them with anyone and i quote "these are not leaving the house!" Thanks for a quick fix for a Thanksgiving tradition--good ole pecan pie.

I am not a baker, but Claire made these look so easy that I decided to try them. The only problem I ran into was using butter (possibly too much and Reynold's non-stick aluminum foil. It made it difficult to spread/place the crust. Like someone mentioned before, I cut them into bit size squares. Brought them to work and everyone loved them. I think this size would be perfect for party trays. Also helps those who are counting calories - they don't feel as guilty. :
Someone asked about the 1/3 corn syrup. I used 1/3 cup and they turned out great so that must be the right measurement.

I haven't made these yet. The corn syrup - is that 1/3 a cup? Doesn't say in the recipe.

I made these last night. They came out perfect. I am freezing them and serving them for Thanksgiving. They are not too sweet. Just right and easy to prepare. I would highly suggest making them.

If the foil is a problem I used Reynolds Non-Stick and it came off like a charm and no dirty pan to clean.
