    Excellent idea I followed the recipe the first time, and found a tweak or two made it AMAZING.
    I used apple 3 C juice/2C water, less lemon, added vanilla and brought to a vigerous boil. Then let the pears sit in the liquid as it cooled.
    After I placed the pears on a cooling rack to let the excess fluid drain so it doesnt produce a thin carmel sauce.

    I also let the cause get very thick and didnt add the pecans to the heat, I just added them on the pears before I added the sauce so they stayed crunchy and sooo much better.

    I love pears and I love pecans, so this was a perfect marriage! Sauce is good over ice cream too.

    the creamy sauce is really delicious and even though the time i made it was more than a drizzle and a little thin it tasted amazing with the pears
