Saw the show a while back and thought Christmas Dinner! Since my daughter doesn't like spinich (we did the whole Steak House meal I added zucchini and mushroom to the mix. It was a win-win meal for all!

I really, really hate tomatoes. Tomato products, fine. Tomatoes on their own, gag reflex. But so many of Claire's recipes have turned out well for me, that I decided to try this one. I was very pleased. My husband called the dish "a winner" and I thought it was very tasty. The tomatoes were juicy and sweet; they kind of reminded me of little pockets of tomato soup. I did want a little more garlic flavor, though. I'm considerind smashing my garlic next time to see if that does anything. In response to the past two comments: I'm pretty sure the dish would be ruined if you cut the tomatoes first. I would leave them alone. And to the person with the sticky tomatoes, maybe you didn't get them well coated in olive oil. If you coat the tomatoes as instructed, they should be nonstick. Good luck!

I did this recipe and it was a disaster... the tomatoes were all mushy and they stick to the pan. And reading all of the reviews, I think that something went wrong then.

Can anyone tell me if you're supposed to cut the tomatoes in half first. I seem to remember this step but I could be wrong.

OK..... So i used this recipe as a base for a dinner dish I made and it was outstanding..... I used one pint of grape tomatoes, 3 cloves of garlic, salt, pepper, and the dash of balsamic that was suggested previously. And toseed all of it together.
THen I cut some chicken spinach and asiago sausages on a bias and cooked them and deglazed the pan with white wine. When the first 20 mins of the tomatoes are up I put the contents of the deglazed pan in with the tomatoes. And let it cook another 25 minutes. During the last 25 minutes I cooked some rigatoni. When the tomatoes were done I combined the rigatoni, sausage, and roasted grape tomatoes and topped with Romano cheese shavings..................... if u are looking to turn these tomatoes into a main dish this is the way......

I have already made this recipie twice. My entire family absolutely loves it, including my four kids! The simplicity of this dish is deceiving. The flavors are amazingly complex and wonderful. Thank you so much for introducing this keeper!!!

If you hate the idea of this show so much (which is geared toward busy/beginner home cooks then why are you watching it and wasting your time reviewing on here?? Give it a rest, already.

Anyway, I have come to love roasting vegetables...never tried tomatoes before. Not being a tomato lover, I was surprised at how roasting them brings out the sweetness in them. I actually liked it. :
