Soooo yummy, I had to grate some Fontina cheese on top I know that makes it six ingredients, but it also makes it super perfect!!

I really liked the chunkiness of the soup but it tasted a little too tangy. I thought that maybe I should have added some sugar. It's still fairly early in the season so I could probably get sweeter tomatoes later in the summer. The tomatoes probably make a big difference. Since my baguette was not a day old, I tore it into pieces, tossed it with the garlic olive oil, and put it in the oven for a few mintues on a sheet pan. That worked well to firm the bread up. My husband also suggested adding rotisserie chicken and sausage and making it more of a stew. I might try that next time.

The tomato soup was everything you presented on TV - I happened to be in Fresh Market for another recipe ingreident search when I came across your chosen canned tomato, so only thing to do but try your recipe first and am I evr glad that I did - it is truly full of flavor and such richness - my 8 yr. old grandson dipped his bread like he does his gumbo and thought was the perfect way to eat the soup... I enjoy your show, thank you for your energy and talent. Now the search is on for the white beans in a jar!

So glad it tasted good, as Susan says below! Watched Claire demo this while I was on the eliptical machine. Kept me on the machine much longer. This and the White Bean Salad are the easiest recipes! Loved making something new and out of the box. Will make again this week...this time for my own family!!

A friend made this soup for my family today. It is perfect! I cannot wait to make it myself. These recipes are awesome! I am new to this show, but am definitely a convert. My friend also made the bean and endive salad that was on this episode. It is absolutely fantastic, and goes with the soup to perfection! Try this meal!!

Great tip to cut down acid in tomato based recipes, use 1/4 tsp of baking soda for a huge pot of this soup and stir it in. Put it in before you add the bread and roasted tomatoes. It works great in spaghetti sauce as well. Remember, a little goes a long way.

The San marzano tomatoes are worth it. There's only a few ingredients and the tomatoes are obviously the main star.

This simple-to-make soup is perfect for a snowy day. Take Claire's advice and use San Marzano tomatoes. This really seems to keep the acidity down. Also, if you find that the bread sucks up a bit too much of the soup, don't be afraid to add some hot water. It doesn't hurt it at all. In addition to the olive oil and basil garnish, I like to add a sprinkle of romano cheese. Delicious!

I'm new to Claire Robinson and her 5-ingredient style of cooking. This is the first of her recipes that I've tried and I am sooo impressed with this soup. I thought the flavors and textures were right on. I can't wait to eat the leftovers and will definitely be making it again.
