I used provolone cheese instead of guyere, threw in mushrooms, and sprinkled heavily with nutmeg, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I am so pleased with how it came out! It's a very rich and tasty dish and so simple a recipe! Thanks, Claire!

Loved this! I actually did a 1/2 cup of plain non-fat yogurt (instead of mayo and part skim cheese to really cut down on the calories and fat. Didn't even notice the difference :

Awesome to have another EASY way to enjoy squash. I made enough to share with my sister and sent her recipe..had enought for days since i am the only one in this twosome who likes squash..fine with me. Can't wait to make it again. Think I'll cut down on crackers next time and see how that goes. Debbe

I made this for dinner tonight. I made two batches. The first one, I followed the recipe as it called for and it was great. The second batch, I made as someone suggested leaving out the mayo. The second batch was my favorite. The first batch with the mayo had a bite to it. Without the mayo was a little quieter taste. I think you should prepare both ways to pick your favorite.

This is very heavy - and unnecessarily so. I don't think the mayonnaise is even necessary. The texture would be pleasantly crispy without it. And the taste is slightly off as a result of the mayonnaise.

This was delicious right out of the oven but when I reheated some leftovers the next day I had to throw it out. The crackers were soggy and the taste was off putting . Definitely needs to be eaten right out of the oven.
