Pay attention to the show before you make comments. She says she does not consider salt and pepper an ingredient because we all have that in our kitchens. So if you are going to give it 2 stars, make it for the food.

Saw the show again and decided to try the recipe as I always thought I had to have a pop-over tray to make them. The last time I made Yorkshire pudding they were a complete, greasy failure. As to a few of the comments that you received: if you decide to "tweak" a recipe, don't give it less stars than it deserves....its not the recipe. As far as giving alternate ingredients...i.e. olive oil instead of beef fat renderings, I appreciate this info as I like these little puddings with lamb and as a special snack at times. I LOVE to cook and plan meals and find that Claire is a breath of fresh air.......less is always better as far as prep time and taste. I don't always want to spend an entire day in the kitchen to prepare a meal for a family of 2 or for a party of 8.

Yes I'm a country gal who thought they sounded hoity toity and even thought at one time these were some sort of savory pudding. Claire made them look so good and so easy, I gave them a try. My family was very skeptical but we made the whole meal and I have to say these were light and eggy and almost like savory French toast. They were sooooooooo good to sop up the gravy on the plate we did not miss the mashed potatoes. I have made these at least a dozen times and each time they get better!

I suppose it's all a matter of preference. I found them o.k. but i think i will stick to my biscuits for soaking up my gravy instead.

This was perfect. I saw this episode a while ago, and today when I was preparing my Standing Rib Roast decided to give it a try. It was as easy as Claire explained it and it was quite good too. I was apprehensive to try it only because, I'd never had it at all so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I loved it and so did my family. I would definately make it again. I read all the reviews first to try to avoid some of the other errors that people had described. The lady who gave it one star had to have done something really wrong. It was easy to prepare and puffed up just like the Video did. I did not use the beef drippings, I used a bit of EVOO as the directions said can be used as an alternative and I sprayed the non-stick muffin tin with a little Pam. I set the time for 30 Min instead of 20 as one of the reviews said it had taken them longer. I had to remove them before the 30 min was up. They came a bit darker than the video, so perhaps the 20 min would have been fine. The next time I will use the drippings. Thanks Claire for a great easy treat. Teri - Selden, Long Island

I have made this recipe many times. Having grown up with a mother who made the best prime rib and yorkshire...I was very impressed with the exact descripion of the proper way to make yorkshire. Turns out right every time. I have passed this recipe onto many friends and they have all loved it.

I tried this recipe just yesterday for our post Christmas Dinner. I had the prime rib and followed this recipe to the tee. I even ran the video stream to make sure I followed what Claire said and did to make this recipe. Claire - this was absolutely horrible. Firstly - this didn't take 20 mins to bake as per her directions - it took more like 50 mins. I was unaware that my kitchen would fill with smoke due to the drippings spilling out all over my clean oven and causing a massive smoke filled apartment - After all of that - they DID have the taste of the prime rib drippings which was immediately dissolved by the saltiness. Iv'e never had Yorkshire Pudding before and figured this would be a great recipe to add to my Christmas meal but , not at the expense of getting high blood pressure from the salt and a smoke filled home. I will not make this version again for my family. Claire sorry , but you have to get 1 star for this recipe. It wasn't good at all.

This was a good try Claire ... I loved the muffin pan idea and the herb addition. It definately made this a savory addition to a Prime Rib feast. But somehow they were bland. They really needed a good gravy to make them yummy. I will probably make them again when I have a beef roast, but next time I want to experiment a bit with the flavors. I'm wondering if they would be better with a Rosemary/Tyme blend.
