Drinking my coffee with homemade almond milk now! It's kind of amusing how I came across this recipe. I recently got almonds, but didn't realize they were raw. OK, I wasn't paying attention -typical man! I decided to roast them. 10min was just a bit too long. They were slightly burnt bottom side. Ate a handful - they were tolerable, not terrible! It smelled like coffee. More experimenting! Coffee grinder - ground them up smooth. Used my Keurig SoloFill and made Almond Tea. Add Tbs of AgaveSyrup and milk Yum!. Grinds appeared like peanutbutter with water still in it as if water stopped passing through it. The tea had oil on the surface, too. More toasting? Re-toasted another 5 min, and ground them. New idea was mix up coffee grinds and ground almond for the next morning. I set that aside and searched google to see if anyone had done this. And THAT is the story of how I landed here!!

The recipe 5 Stars. Ruining 1/2 pound of Expensive Nuts? Claire what happened? I have issues w/this point of Recipe. Cannot use faux Almonds~Apricot is a usual subsitute for the "flavour" of Almonds.I will omit and use no nuts and Almond milk for subtle flavour.Shaved Chocolate on Top will be a better End Point.

Very good, but I did need to add more honey to the finished product for some more sweetness. The almond flavor was subtle, and I kind of hated to use up so many sliced almonds. You could use almond extract.

I scaled down the measurements to make just 1 cup of coffee for myself. The almond milk was good, but when I tasted the combination of the coffee, almond milk, and cocoa, I realized that the coffee needed to be sweeter. I think I would actually prefer this without the cocoa powder. It was good, but not worth the effort I spent to make one cup of coffee.

Very delicious! Just be sure not to put too much cocoa in your cup. And I remembered something a bit different than the recipe from how it was prepared on the show - put the honey in the bottom of a pitcher or pourable bowl then strain the milk (with almonds into it, stir and pour over your cocoa and coffee/espresso. Enjoy! Thanks, Claire.

The almonds gave the coffee mocha drink a very special and indulgent twist!! Great to serve to guests made with decaf coffee for a nice evening treat.
