I had half a quart of heavy cream sitting in the fridge that needed to be used, when I watched Claire make this great chocolate mousse. I followed her recipe exactly, only I used 60% bitter-sweet chocolate chips, as that is what I had in my pantry.

The only problem I had was that the yolk/sugar mixture is definitely not enough to melt all of the chocolate. I had to set the mixture over a pot of hot water to finish melting it.

The only other thing that I didn't expect was how thick and creamy this mousse turned out to be. I assumed it was going to be light and fluffy mousse, but mine was not. I can't wait to try it with white chocolate and to what else Claire has in store this season...from TN girl to another!

This was so easy, i made it right after the show was over without writing the recipe down. Topped with blueberries and sliced almonds. It set perfectly however next time less sugar with egg yolks.

This recipe is terrible. I love mousse and have made lots of them. Was hoping this would be much simpler than Ina Garten's, which has lots of steps but is worth it for the final taste. Simpler is not better in this case. You need more than 1/4 cup of cream to melt the chocolate, it didn't set properly and I tasted more of the cream than the chocolate. Stick to Barefoot Contessa.

This was a wonderful dessert. I found it easier to melt the chocolate first; however, it works either way. It is very smooth and because of its texture you might wonder if it is going to set up. No worrys; it sets up great. This is a great recipe and very much a keeper!

I have been playing around with this one for a few months. I tried it with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark chocolate & cinnamon sugar, strawberries & bourbon. The white chocolate was the best by far (it goes without saying but use the best white chocolate you can find. I can whip this up at just about any dinner party and always go home wiht a prize ;'

Nobody ate it. Maybe i'd try it w/ regular or dark chocolate and no extra sugar. I like the execution of the dish though. It was really easy

Everyone at my dinner party loved this light sweet dessert. I added a mixture of both blackberries and halved strawberries ;tossing them with a blackberry balsamic vinager and basil. This gave a nice fragrant zing to the creamy sweetness of the mousse.
