This was DElicious! I didn't put the bacon on it because I thought that sounded too "meaty" and it was still yummy!

Someone rated this one star because of the thyme. I also think the thyme took this dish in an unexpected and unwanted direction. Basically, this is a good recipe, but I would either cut the thyme proportion down to 1/4 teaspoon, or drop it all together.

I made this once for a small casual get together. Everyone loved it, especially my best friends husband. She said he couldn't stop talking about for multiple days. Now it is a favorite when my boyfriend and I are having a comfort food day. To make it a tad bit healthier, I mix mine with turkey instead of veal and use turkey bacon. It still is very good. Yum!

My wife and youngest son love meatloaf. The other 3 boys will tolerate it. This was my first time making meatloaf and made a few changes. I used ketchup and bbq sauce together for the glaze. I did not add the mustard or pepper sauce. I used 1 lb of ground beef and 1 lb of italian sausage. Instead of putting the glaze on top of the loaf I mixed it into the meat. I added a little BBQ sauce just before about 10 minutes before I pulled it out of the oven. My wife said she loved the recipe and one of the other boys said he didn't like it, he loved it. They said dad now has to make the meatloaf for now on. I recommend this recipe to anyone who wants to have a hit with friends or family.

This is a great recipe. Made it a few times now and we all really enjoy it. Looks and tastes impressive enough for company.

My only addition to this receipe would be to make twice the ketchup glaze than they have you make, for more coverage on the loaf!!

My husband always asked me to make meatloaf. I found this recipe and tried it. OMG it is the best. I have also made it into meatballs without the bacon and brought it to many get togethers. Everyone loves it.

I make this at least twice a month for my family I change nothing to the recipe except double the glaze and add more bacon as the adult childrent in my family and my husband fight over it. I am loved more on Meat Loaf Days, it doesn't matter what side dishes they get, I am mother of the month every month.

Disagree totally with Endicott, NY she must have bad taste buds I have served this to more than 50 people including church bazaars they can't all be wrong.

    Sincerely,

This is one of the worst meatloaf's I have ever had. I will never make it again. The meatloaf mix with the thyme was horrible. I did not care for the glaze either. While I will say the texture was very moist, the flavor was totally missing. What a disappointment. This was worse than awful. I've already thrown out the recipe.
