I followed the recipe exactly, no deviations, and it came out much drier than I expected. I think pork these days is leaner than we think of it being, and maybe an 80/20 blend of beef would have helped.
Also, I would double the glaze recipe and use it as a gravy when serving. As is, the glaze was more-or-less not noticed in the final dish.
The flavor was very good, however, and I'm going to try it again with the above changes.

This recipe sounds great. In response though to the reviewer who thinks that the silicone-saturated Barbie doll from Hollywood is the only Pam Anderson in the world, I suggest you look at your copy of "The Best Recipe Cookbook". See the acknowledgement page where it lists the contributing authors for "Cooks Illustrated"? Voila, there is another Pam Anderson who is indeed one of their test cooks.

I've made this exact recipe at least 20 times. I've doubled and tripled it for larger groups with success. However, this recipe is from a favorite cookbook of mine titled "The New Best Recipe Cookbook" from the editors of "Cooks Illustrated" and was copyrighted in 2004. I think it is only fair that those neighbors of mine in Brookline Massachusetts be given credit for thier own copyrighted material. You didn't really think Pam Anderson developed this recipe, did you?

This recipe is delish. I used about twice as much of the ket/br sugar glaze to make it twice as good. Easy and quick to make.

Killer recipe...made it three times now and everytime it came out incredible. The bacon is a great touch and realy helps with keeping it moist.

I usually cannot make a good meatloaf, but this was wonderful. I may have gotten a little heavy on the thyme but my husband loved it. Even my grown son, who is a picky eater thought it was great. And, he doesn't like meatloaf.

The bacon adds a really special flavor that keeps the meat loaf moist. The best meatloaf i have had, homestyle or at a restaurant!
