I have used Mr. Malgiere's recipes in the past with fabulous results. First of all, 2 pints of blueberries are not equal to 4 cups - and I think the pie could have used even a little more than that. Secondly, for 2 pints of blueberries anyway, 1/4 t. of fresh nutmeg turned out to be a lot. Nutmeg flavor was very dominant and I was careful to grate and even measure it. It wasn't horrible, but it could have been so much more....

This was my first time making a pie from complete scratch and I would say it was pretty good. Just make sure after the crust is refrigerated that you roll it very thin before putting in pie pan. My crust was way thick but that my fault not knowing how much it would rise. Also I would add more sugar to the crust and berries, I like it sweeter but it was great, thick crust and all!

I made this pie because I am a big fan of both pie and blueberries. It was for my family, but it turns out my sisters friends came over too, and everybody loved it!! Good recipe. Takes a while for prep, though. The crust is PERFECT.

I made this pie for our Elks Lodge for our Friday night dinners, now the requests keep pouring in. According to the 50 people that ate the blueberry pie, this recipe is a keeper!!
