I made this cake today and it came out very good : The batter did taste a little "flourery" but before I poured it in the cake pan I added 1/8c more sugar and 3tbls milk. That fixed it. The cake rose well. I had no other issues with it. Very good. Would definitely make this cake again :

I found it delicious! Everyone in my family loved it! Instead of using unsalted butter, I used salted and cut down on the salt. It was great!

I love this cake. I have practiced this cake 4 times as I am using this recipe to make my daughters wedding cake. The flavor and texture is really good. I have yet to have any problems like others have stated.

This cake is AMAZING! Anyone who made this cake and says it didn't taste good must have made it wrong or measured incorrectly. This cake is light and spongy, great flavor and perfect to use with any frosting. Its not super sweet, but its not supposed to be. So maybe try it again and see if it turns out better next time. :

My son Adam asked me to make white cake with chocolate frosting. So (being the good mom that i am I tried this recipe instead of using a box cake. I was a bit disappointed. The cake was spongy and a bit dry. It was easy to make but definitely needed some moisture! A glass of milk!

This cake turned out great! It was a little dense(not dry at all but with a light frosting it was delicious! We are planing on using this recipe for my daughters birthday cake. I did use a little more sugar then called for to sweeten it up a little. Other then that I made no changes to this cake. LOVE it!

This cake was so disappointing. When we took it out of the oven it tasted like awkward cornbread. We ended up using store-bought packages.

I made this cake last night and was so disappointed. It looked great but it tasted like flour. It was so bad my kids wouldn't even eat it. I followed the directions perfectly so I don't know what happened. I also found the batter to be very thick. Store bought package would have been way cheaper and would have tasted a hundred times better.

I had issues with the cake rising. It was like a really thick pancake and my baking powder did not expire. So.... I suggest other recipes. It tastes good, but a waste of time.
