The cake is a little tasteless. Next time I'll try enhancing the flavor with maybe a bit or butter extract, or lemon, etc. If you want a cake to showcase your frosting on, this is it.

Cake was very good. This is my 10th recipe and finally found one I like the texture is great however the vanilla taste did bake out, I used real vanilla. Maybe next time I will try imitation vanilla and maybe without the ETOH it will hold the vanilla flavor a bit better but overall a great recipe.

I'm not sure what the few people that said the cake came out dry or greasy were talking about. This cake has to be one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. I made it for a birthday a couple of week ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I may have to make another one just to satisfy the craving. Absolutely the best cake recipe ever and super easy. A real winner!

I made this for my nephew's birthday. It was very tasty, but we all wished it was a little lighter. I filled & frosted with whipped cream, but the cake was too dense, it really needed a buttercream-type frosting. I really thought it would be alot lighter due to the egg whites. Might make it again using heavier frosting.

Excellent recipe! My husband loves white cakes for birthdays, and I thought they were flavorless and boring...until this recipe! Well done!

Does anyone know how many cups of batter this recipe yields?

I made the yellow cake version and added 1/3 cup apricot jam. The cake baked beautifully and was so moist. My family loved it. I will definately bake this cake again.
