I loved it! I made the classic yellow version for my sons 3rd bday with some cream cheese frosting and it was great. If you make it right it turns out awesome.

I made a double layer cake of this recipe for my father's 65th surprise party yesterday. The first cake I made was a bomb and in a panic I found this recipe 5 hours before the party! It was a great hit, people could tell it was homemade. One woman told me that I should start a bakery. Thanks for the great recipe!

I thought this cake had nice flavor, but I agree with PP that it was dry. I like a dense cake but not a dry cake. It was absolutely not greasy at all. I used the Yellow cake version.

I'm hoping to start a cupcake business, and was looking for a good white cake recipe when I came across this one. I fully expected I'd have to try several recipes before finding one that satisfied me, but was extremely pleased with the results. I frosted the cupcakes with a white buttercream frosting (with a hint of almond flavoring, and took them to work. Everyone RAVED about them and I've even been asked to make some for an office party. I don't understand the comment that they had "zero taste". They were amazing scrumptious!

I made the yellow cake version of this and it was as good and moist as I remember from my LONG ago childhood. I added a cooked custard filling and a creamy chocolate butter frosting. It's sure to become an often requested special treat.

I agree with a previous review that this cake, as batter, tastes great but has zero taste as a baked cake. Also, I would have liked it to rise at least a 1/4" more per pan. This recipe definitely doesn't make the cut.

I've made cake from scratch before, but this recipe was amazing! It was so moist and delicious. I made it for my daughter's 21st birthday. I made the yellow cake version exactly as the recipe called for. My family was really happy with the cake. My daughter's boyfriend even commented how delicious the cake was and had 3 huge pieces.

I made a cream cheese frosting from a recipe I found on the food network and added a strawberry syrup with fresh strawberries in the middle. Yummy is all I could say as I ate my piece of moist delicious cake. Loved this recipe and will make it over and over again. I recommend this recipe to anyone, it's soooooo easy to follow!!!! this cake deserves a 10 star rating!!!!

I've made this cake several times. Everyone loves the cake. I've add my own little twist to the recipe by adding 2/3 cup of sour cream and depending on the flavor icing I'm making, I change up the flavor. Sometimes orange, lemon or even butter flavor.

Eveyone love my cake at work. :-
