They were pretty easy to make, but they were a bit dry and they didn't have enough flavor. I followed the recipe exactly. They needed more spices and sugar, and they were too cakey. I don't think I'll use this particular recipe again.

I have been making these cookies for about 10 years now and everyone goes nuts over them. I use Whole Foods brand spices which I think tend to be on the strong side which might be why I have never had any problems with the spices in them.

The cookies were a good texture, but the flavor was underspiced and not quite sweet enough. I made both 1/4 inch (which had a nice cut and 1/2 inch (which had a nice softness to them, I loved the molasses flavor, but there wasn't nearly enough ginger or other spices to counteract.

I just made these for Christmas and they are absolutely wonderful. Full of flavor --I added about 1 tsp more per spice called for. I also cut mine about 1/2" thick so they turned out nice and soft --cooked 10min. I would recommend these to anyone!
