I must say this is the best pudding ever...My husbend and I tryed sticky Pudding in a restrant in California and fell in love with it! We asked for the recipe and our waitress said sorry it's a secrete! NOT ANY MORE....HA HA.....
We love to serve it in a little bath of half and half and drizzle extra toffie sauce over the top.....YUMMM......It's all most that time of year again.....

this is the MOST gorgeous sticky toffee pudding i have ever had. i had never made one before but had them in several pubs and restaurants all around england. my husband said this was better than any one we have ever had in a restaurant !! the dates give the cake such a delicate flavour while the toffee sauce adds just the right moisture and texture to the cake. i use brown sugar in the cake recipie and use dark brown sugar for the toffee sauce -- also i don't remove the cake after baking and put on a wire rack, i just leave it in the pan while the toffee sauce is bubbling and poke holes in the cake with a toothpick so that the sauce really sinks into the cake once i put it back into the oven. ** THIS MAKES YOU FORGET ANY OTHER DESSERT YOU HAVE HAD :

Love this recipe. Easy and amazingly delicious (just like restaurant toffee pudding I was nervous when I was finished because the batter seemed running, but it baked perfectly. Poked many holes in the done cake before pouring the toffee sauce on top to get toffee more incorporated into the cake before serving. Enjoy this recipe, it won't disappoint!

I made this for my sweetie on Valentine's Day and we both went crazy!
If I ordered this in a restaurant I might have screamed with delight! It is so good warm! I have never made sticky pudding before and didn't even know it had dates in it! Very easy directions to follow and I didn't change a thing! Thanks for a 5 star recipe to add to my repertoire!

I didn't love the cake for this recipe, but the sauce was great. In the future, I am going to use the cake recipe from Gale Gand and the Toffee Sauce recipe from here.

Yum - as good as any I've had in restaurants. Easy to make and impresses the dinner guests! The caramel sauce is decadent - I scaled back slightly on the butter and it was still delicious.

I was surprised with the result, the pudding was tasty, although someone advised me to first keep dates in boiling water and then add the backing soda just before adding them to the mixture!! the more dates the tastier .... good luck and happy eating
