Turned out very good. 3 cups of sugar seemed excessive, especially with sugar sprinkled on top, so I only used 2 cups and it was still sweet, but a little tart - perfect. Next time I might whip the egg whites before folding in and see what happens - they got pretty foamy while I was beating them with the butter and sugar, but I was using a hand mixer and it might be different with a kitchenaid paddle attachment. Using a 1/4 cup for a scoop produced some ridiculous, big as yo' face cookies. After having a good laugh at the monsters from the first batch, I used a tablespoon, spaced them 2 in. apart on the cookie sheet, and baked for 9-10 minutes on 350. Came out perfect. Will definitely make again when I want something easy and simple.
