Ingredients

  • 12 fresh kaiser rolls
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and put rolls on a baking sheet. In a small bowl stir salt and caraway seeds. In a small saucepan bring 1/2 cup water to a boil and in a small bowl dissolve cornstarch in remaining 2 tablespoons water. Add cornstarch mixture to boiling water and boil, stirring, until thickened. Remove mixture from heat and brush it onto tops of rolls. Sprinkle rolls with salt and seeds and bake in middle of oven until crisp, about 5 minutes.
