You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground brown chicken , turkey or buffalo
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup green pepper
  • 1/2 cup celery

Directions

Brown meat in large heavy skillet over moderate heat for 2 to 3 minutes, breaking up clumps. Add onion, mustard, worcestershire, sugar, vinegar, ketchup, salt, green pepper and celery. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring now and then, about 40 minutes until flavors mingle. Place 1/2 hamburger bun on each of four plates and ladle meat sauce generously on top. Serve at once.

    this was a good easy recipe, but you need to add tomato paste or something to calm down the sweet flavor of everything.

    This tastes so much better than the tried and true envelope variety and it's not much more work. It tastes great with a combination of beef and turkey. I also like to drain the fat from the meat, sauteing the onions separately in a bit of olive oil, and then throwing everything together. I also make big batches and freeze portions for meals on the run. Even my pickiest seven year old loves this stuff.
