While it was a holiday, i just couldnt make these as rish as the recipe says, but it insiperd my own version. I had marscapone cheese left from another recipe so i used some of that instead of cream cheese, a little less cream and a little more milk. It came out GREAT. While it wasnt "light", i didnt feel as guilty :- Edit for 2012 - i added leaks sauted with butter and some thyme for added flavor. also, added onions on top from Alton's Best-ever green bean casserole. Will make this again soon. Outstanding combo.

Excellent! If you really want to blow the roof off...add 8 oz of sour cream and 1/2 a medium onion to the mixture. Top, after the first 15 min bake, with French's Fried onions...1/2 of a can. Bake the last 10 minutes.

Simply amazing. The cream cheese is what makes it soooooo good. This should be your go-to mashed potato recipe for any special occasion.

Everything that she makes is amazing!! These mashed potatoes are so addicting and I think the cream cheese and seasoned salt make this dish!
