To the viewer who has trouble finding mascarpone cheese, I had the same problem. I found a recipe online, so now I make my own!! Can't wait to try this recipe! It looked so good coming out of the oven. I could almost smell it!

This crostata was absolutely fabulous. I ended up using golden delicious apples, because that's what I had in the fridge, so it wasn't tart tasting at all. The pastry is so delicious that I could have eaten that alone! Also, I made the pastry dough the night before, and left it in the fridge all day the next day, and made the crostata that night, almost 24 hours after making the dough. Maybe that is a culinary no-no, but it turned out just fine. I highly recommend this recipe.

I made this on July 4th. Hubby and I loved it!! I used Ina Garten's pastry dough recipe because Marscapone cheese is hard to find here. My kitchen was hot so after I assembled the crostata I but back in the fridge for 30 minutes. Turned out wonderful. Nice combo.

I just made this for the first time this 4th. We had only 4 people so I thought this recipe was the perfect size and easy for a picnic. I didn't want something fussy or large the 4 of us finished it off nicely. It was served with the main course so it probably would serve 6 for desert with smaller servings.

I like to make recipes to the letter except I had no Grannies ( any apples would do for this recipe. I also used a prepared crust which I know was not the same kind of crust that the ricotta would have produced but hey, I'm lazy. It is super fast to whip up and makes a beautiful presentation. I thought the gorgonzola was going to be too strong but I think I will double the recipe next time, couldn't really taste any cheese. My super, super, super picky daughter even liked it, (didn't tell her what was in it.

The outcome was fine, but I expected more after watching the show. I agree with the previous reviewer that more sugar is necessary since the apples are very tart.

As soon as I saw this on the show, I knew I would love it. I was right. Even my little brother, who notoriously hates apple pie liked this dish. I am thinking about making mini portions using a cupcake pan to serve at a party.

You can add any type of berry to this but I reccommend that you increase the sugar and the cinnamon quanity in the apple toss. It is pretty tart as is but you can jazz it up with a cup of sugar, some raisins or berries, and more cinnamon. It was worth the effort and it looked great on the service tray. You have to have some great Blue Bell Vanilla ice cream on the side- that would make it to die for!!!

Not only was this a delicious crostata, but it was a lot of fun to make. It was beautiful in its presentation. The combination of flavors was perfect. This is in no way your ordinary apple pie. The blue cheese adds a richness and the walnuts add the perfect crunch. My parents are in town for a visit and I wish I could spell the sounds coming from that dinner table. You hit it out of the park with this one Giada.
