Ingredients
- 2 lemons, juiced
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup steak sauce (recommended: A-1)
- 2 whole chickens, 3 pounds each, butterflied
- 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Whisk together the lemon juice, Worcestershire and steak sauce in a small bowl. Place the chickens in a large baking dish and rub with the butter then pour the lemon mixture over. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to 4 hours.
Preheat the grill to medium.
Season the chickens liberally with salt and pepper and place on the grill, skin side down. Grill until golden brown and slightly charred, 10 to 12 minutes. Turn over, close the cover and continue grilling until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thigh registers 165 degrees F. Remove, tent with foil and let rest 10 minutes before carving.

I'm really not sure what happened. Unfortunately this chicken had almost zero flavor which I could not believe since I love, love, love A-1 and worcestershire sauce. Normally I read the reviews first for a few tips from other cooks but I didn't this time and I really wish I had. The reviewer who posted all the extra seasonings seems to know whats up and that sounds good. I may have to try this again because I hate giving up on recipes if they turn out right the first time. Bobby usually doesn't disappoint so I may try again but I'll have to call it something different because my husband won't eat it again if he thinks it's the same thing. I don't know what happened it just was not good :(

this is terrific and how fun to see Stephanie's family too. It's too bad that whoever puts these recipes on here doesn't follow what is done on TV. It was definitely skin side up at the beginning which does make sense as stated by another reviewer.

This is so good! I melted the butter and added it to the marinade, and also added a little salt and pepper as well. Excellent!
