I'm really not sure what happened. Unfortunately this chicken had almost zero flavor which I could not believe since I love, love, love A-1 and worcestershire sauce. Normally I read the reviews first for a few tips from other cooks but I didn't this time and I really wish I had. The reviewer who posted all the extra seasonings seems to know whats up and that sounds good. I may have to try this again because I hate giving up on recipes if they turn out right the first time. Bobby usually doesn't disappoint so I may try again but I'll have to call it something different because my husband won't eat it again if he thinks it's the same thing. I don't know what happened it just was not good :(

this is terrific and how fun to see Stephanie's family too. It's too bad that whoever puts these recipes on here doesn't follow what is done on TV. It was definitely skin side up at the beginning which does make sense as stated by another reviewer.

This is so good! I melted the butter and added it to the marinade, and also added a little salt and pepper as well. Excellent!

Wow! This is a winner right out of the gate. Simple, straight forward ingredients that make the chicken moist and satisfying. Definitely grill this one on a charcole grill so you can appreciate the smokey goodness the marinade imparts on the bird. This is my "go to" chicken recipe. Make sure to oil the grate well before adding the chicken and there's no sticking. Perfect every time!

This was great - Glad I read all the reviews (it's easy to tell who is an experienced cook and who is not and certainly grilled to the correct temperature. If the skin sticks to the grill, frankly folks, that's your fault - the grill is too hot, you didn't spray it down, etc. I went with the suggestion of adding hot sauce and garlic - stupendous! Defintely a reliable "company coming over - need to grill!" recipe.

I chnaged the recipe a litltle BUT awesome!!!!
I did NOT know what to think when I made thiis recipe....beef seasonings on chicken???
I am here to tell ya'll ~ it is awesome!!!

After reading all the "reviews here"
    I added the following:

    Hot Sauce
    Wochestrchire
    A-1 Steak Sauce
"LIQUID SMOKE" (I dont have an outside grill, but wanted the outdoor taste!

I then seasoned the chicken with:
    Garlic Salt
Garlic Powder (beacuse you cant add TOO Much garlic salt
    Onion Powder
    Hot Paprkia
    Black Pepper
    White Pepper
**** EXTRA INGREDIENT ADDED Near the end ALERT ~
Once the chicken was browned, I added:

~ Splash of "FRANK'S Hot Wing BAR-B-Q Sauce"
~ And a pat of butter
(to the skin-side of the "browned chicken"

~ THEN PLACED IN OVEN....To finish cooking internally

So I followed the recipe "as is" BUT added these things....to "hop-it-up!"

I do NOT have an "outdoor grill"....so I could only make this on top of the stove!
    I used:

~ a "Calaphon" Grill Pan (sprayed with PAM
~ also gave the chicken a coat of "Corn Oil"
    * (so it would not stick and get a nice "brown" coat

I then used the "brick" cooking method....
BU did not have a brick ~ so used a heavy "LID" to push the chicken down and hold in the heat!

Once it was browned on the outside....
~ then I put it in a 400 degree Oven to finish it
    (for maybe 10 min
*** I used a "Meat Theromometer" to check that the chicken was cooked through.

Ya'll this chicken was so darn good...it tasted like it came off an out-door grill.
My husband is Portuguese ( and they LOVE their BQ Chicken
~ he could not believe how good this was and that it did it "IN-DOORS"!!!!
    ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did this recipe the way the show said to, not the recipe. The marinade in the show used hot sauce, the recipe used A-1 and worstichire. I used A-1, Worstichire and the hot sauce and lemon juice. I also added fresh minced garlic.

Mine came out fantastic! It made 6 college boys very happy.

Mrs. March needed no help from her son-in-law. He should have left her recipe alone. Skin side up to start reduced flare ups.

22 min is wrong. Try 40.

Will not only make again, it will become a standard.

Carole...you are right. I watched the show, as well, and the recipe used on the show is different from the one used here. Everything from marinating the chicken to Mrs. March making sure the skin side was up when the chicken was placed on the grill. If Bobby was improving on the recipe, he should have stated his preferences at the top of the recipe.
