Bring 3 cups water to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the oats, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt and cook, stirring regularly, until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the honey. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes.
Top each serving with 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts, half of a sliced banana and 2 tablespoons cherries. Serve immediately.
