I made this for superbowl Sunday. I even changed a couple things like the kind of beans. (Navy instead of black and I did not have burbon so I used Vermoth. It was so awsome!!!

Wow, this is really a good recipe. The meat cooks up beautifully and the sweetness is simply awesome. Now, I misread the recipe and put in 2 TBSP of cayenne instead of 2 Tsp. Didn't matter, since I love the heat anyway. Simply delicious!

I was expecting something out of this world with this chili recipe but my expectations were too high. This was not at all like chili, but more like a chunky soup. Chili should be able to thickly coat the back of a spoon, this didn't. My pork loin (but isn't all pork loin? was really lean so it didn't have enough marbling to tenderize the bite of the meat, even though I simmered for a lengthy time. The flavor itself was delicious, although I don't think it needed the honey. The spanish onion, red bell and brown sugar made it sweet enough. I am a pretty experienced cook, so I don't think I can blame the outcome on this.

Made this for super bowl - turned out great. We wanted something different than the usual chili powder/hamburger chili. I did follow suggestions and cut back on the honey, but now wishing I hadn't - it really wasn't that sweet. Very good. Only comment is to cut the meat smaller than called for - they were pretty big chunks. It is pretty spicy, so count on having cheese/sour cream to dress it.

This has become our favorite chili! My co-workers and I made it for a chili contest at the office and won first prize.

This recipe is hands down the best chili I have ever tried. I will use this again and again.
I have tried sooo many chili recipes but none stand up to this one!

This is the best chili I have ever made!! My husband will eat this until he sweats, you can't stop eating it. My husband does not like tomatos so I used 3 15oz cans of tomato sauce instead of diced. It made the chili nice and thick. The flavor was incredible.

    Thanks Dan & Steve!!

Toned down the spice just a tad and it was perfect for our family. Great blend of spicy and sweet. Hot today in So Cal so used my crock pot on high for 6 hours. Added beans in last hour and a smidgen of masa flour to thicken. Everyone (even the picky eater ate until they were beyond full because it was so good. Definitely a "do over" recipe.

I used the recipe as written, less oan of black beans and substituting home-grown sweet chilie peppers. I WILL make this again. I recommend this!!

Wow. This is a great recipe! It's very easy to follow, prepare and cook. My family agrees this is one of the best recipes. I also took the advice of a fellow reviewer and added ground sirloin. Try the Tomatillo and Cheese cornbread with it!
