very good, quick, and easy. they taste maple-y or butterscotchy. dough doesn't need chilling so can be made quickly. cut them smaller than 2 inches

Love this recipe. I've made this shortbread several times and every time I get raves. There's never any leftovers.

These are a kick in the head. I made the mistake of eating one at 8 p.m. and I was staring at the ceiling at 2 a.m. But wonderfully tasty -- and unusual. I think Mr. Smith is especially gifted at making sweet treats

This new show is GREAT! This recipe is even better!!! I am making a batch for my daughter as a birthday gift and then a batch for my brother for his birthday. The only problem is that I have to make a batch for my husband and myself for each one I make as a gift. They disappear right off the cookie plate! I will be making these as holiday treats as well this year and I am quite sure they will find a place on the family favorite list.

I love shortbread and will be trying this recipe soon! Espresso is a favorite of mine. These should be really good with a cup. Best wishes to you on your show!

These are wonderful, but we weren't warned that they will mysteriously disappear. I made some to bring to work, left them on the kitchen counter, and the next time I looked they were gone. I had to make more -- and hide them.
One change I made to the directions -- since I'm really lousy at patting out stiff dough in a baking pan -- was to pre-form the dough.
I took the pan I was planning to use -- before I sprayed it or added the ground beans -- lined it with waxed paper, and patted the dough into it. Then, I removed the dough, paper and all, and prepared the pan as directed. Once it was ready, I merely inverted the dough rectangle onto the crushed coffee beans and remove the waxed paper. A couple of quick pats and it was ready to bake without disturbing the beans I had so artfully arranged in the pan.
I hope we see more of this show. The recipes are great and are easily made by real people like me.

Shortbread? Espresso? Chocolate? How could it get anything but 5 stars???
