Fabulous recipe, but DO NOT put in all that salt! One tsp is fine. Possible additions that we like: chick peas, sliced olives. Use kosher salt. Made with basil from the garden and tri-colored pasta, it doesn't get any better.

I chose this recipe because it was already so late that I wanted a quick dinner idea. I love the basil and tomato, it's just way way too salty. So I guess I agree with everyone else here - use less salt when making this!!!
Otherwise, it was ok. :

I chose this recipe because of its simplicity, so I was happy with it just how it was. I only added 2 teaspoons of salt though, and am very glad I didn't add the 3 the recipe calls for. I would even go with 1 in the future.
I like this recipe because it lends itself to additional items beautifully.

I was a little concerned as I was making it that it seemed like a lot of salt so I only used a little over 2 tsp but nearly choked when I tried it! It was horribly salty. Even after rinsing it again and adding more olive oil, I couldn't eat it! I total waste of time and money!

I guess it serves as a good base, but I would think that a recipe featured on national television would be at least somewhat tasty.

I used grilled red pepper instead of tomato, and I served grilled shrimp on top, which made a nice pairing. We ended up adding more lemon juice because you could barely taste it otherwise. Overall it was a good recipe.

I made this for Thanksgiving and it came out good. I made it in advance and put it in the fridge the night before. BAD IDEA! I tasted it before I put it away and it was great. For the next day the pasta kinda soaked up the flavor. I touched it up with some evoo and lemon juice and it came back to life. For left overs I added some chopped left over turkey, fresh ground pepper medley, brocolli florets, and alfredo sauce. This second dish was a nice hot side dish.

This recipe needs a bit more, so I added in shrimp and artichoke hearts in olive oil (and I added in the oil for extra flavor. It was much better this way and next time I think I'll add in mushrooms as well. The pasta is a great base!

Based upon another review (with the chicken dish on same episode, I decreased the salt (to 2tsp.. This is DELIGHTFUL, fresh, and extremely tasty. DO use fresh basil (dried won't cut it, here. The lemon I used was small...could've used a bit larger fruit - however this is not the recipe's issue. I will make this again and again - perfect for a potluck!
