did not use the leaks. I used canned onion rings, but it was still the hit of Thanksgiving. Absolutely wonderful.

My family loved this recipe and it so wonderfully fresh! I used white wine instead of sherry but followed the rest of the recipe to the letter.

I cooked the beans a few minutes longer as I don't like crunchy green beans. The sauce was decent, but I don't think I'll make it again.

I made this for Thanksgiving when my mom asked me to make "green bean casserole". It knocked everyone's socks off! I had to email the recipe to all of my aunts the next day.

I haven't had green bean casserole since being diagnosised with celiac disease almost 10 years ago. It was a dish I continued to make for everyone else and plain, sauted grean beans for those the celiacs of the family. This was absolutely wonderful and so much better than all of that canned stuff. I'm making it for Christmas for everyone but using onions instead of leaks and frying them in smaller batches. Thanks for giving me a chance at "normal" food again.
