    There are so many recipes for spinach and artichoke dips but this one looked interesting. I accidently purchased marinated mushrooms instead of artichoke hearts but my guests loved it anyway! The bacon and garlic and shallots make the difference!

    My husband travels alot but we do watch The Food Network together and he got caught up in the competition. He chose the boyz... I was watching the show and he heard the recipes and he asked if I would make him the recipes from DVD night for him. I made the Spaghetti Pie and the Dip... The dip, as I like to say, was the bomb diggity! The fresh flavors were/are astounding... The pita chips are a revelation... I'm not buying chips anymore - I'll make my own. It is a great recipe which I'll be sharing with all of our families over the holidays. (they let me cook!...

    I made this for a work party. Everybody was asking me the recipe. I added a little Knorr vegetable dip seasoning and it kicked up the flavor even more.

    The lemon flavor was too prominent for my tastes. If I make again I will omit the lemon zest, perhaps adding small amount before serving.

    This dip is great with almost any type of crackers too. I'd be happier if this show aired a bit later in the day so I could be sure and tape it, don't want to miss a thing. These guys are quickly becoming my favorite cooking show.

    I made this for a party today and it was the first thing to go! Yes the lemon was a great finish to this dish. I served it in a sourdough breat bowl, but will do pita next when I have more time.

    THIS WAS A BIG HIT AT MY LAST PARTY... EVERYONE WANTED THE RECIPE... TO THE PERSON RATING THIS RECIPE AS DISGUSTING, GET OVER IT AND GET COUNSELING.... THESE GUYS ARE GREAT HOSTS AND A SCREAM TO WATCH.... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK....

    I loved this, as did my guests. Used 1/2 lb crisp fried bacon (I think it was more than 10 strips and happened to have roasted and pureed garlic so I used that instead of minced. The lemon and shallot were a nice addition. I only had plain, not marinated artichokes so I felt the dip needed a bit more taste and added about 1/3 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch. It might have had enough punch if the artichokes were marinated...I'll try it next time. It totally deserves 5 stars for taking a classic and revamping it. Even without my changes (which were simply due to ingredient constraints I think this recipe is a winner.
